Fundrasing

Chopsticks
Is a local charity which provides work activities for adults with learning disabilities and the long term unemployed.  They need to raise almost £365,000 to build new premises and would like your help to fund raise.  If you have enthusiasm and ideas to arrange events such as Bungee Jumps, Dances, Fete’s etc then they’d love to hear from you.

Royal National Institute Of The Blind (RNIB)

The RNIB rely on funding from their famous ‘Sooty’ boxes which are to be found in shops, restaurants and pubs around our area.  They are seeking a volunteer to collect, count and bank the money generated from these.  So any potential Box Collectors please get in touch with us now.

Great North Air Ambulance

We require volunteers to speak at groups, attend events and to take part in support groups throughout the area who arrange fundraising events on behalf of our organisation. We will provide training and presentation packs. In order to gain public awareness and funding opportunities our charity is also keen to gain access to local and regional events (agricultural shows, supermarkets, fetes etc). We are seeking volunteers to access these opportunities on behalf of our charity and to ‘man’ stands, distribute literature and information as well as selling charity merchandise, collecting donations, recruiting further volunteers and gaining public awareness.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

Could you help with collections in local supermarkets, shopping centres and town centres to help raise funds for YWT?  By giving only 2—3 hours of your time, once or twice a year you can make a difference.  We are also recruiting Fundraisers Network Co-ordinators to recruit collectors, promote fundraising events and support other volunteers.

Marie Curie Cancer Care

The Marie Curie Cancer Care helps people with cancer and their families throughout the UK.  The local branch has many volunteering opportunities especially during March when they hold their ‘Daffodil Day’.  They need street collectors and a co-ordinator that would be responsible for up to 20 sites in Northallerton.

Arthritis Research

Can you help to raise funds for this valuable charity. If so they would welcome your help.  Volunteers are also required to help at Committee Meetings.

Education Fundraiser  - Barnardo’s

This role will involve talking to primary school children in a school environment about the work of Barnardo’s, including asking them to take part in fundraising activities, collecting and banking the money once it is finished and keeping accurate records of monies collected and numbers participating.

National Student Team Volunteer - Barnardo’s

Students play a significant role within all areas of volunteering but the national team specifically focuses on fundraising through street collections.  Students get together and collect money on a Saturday.  If you have longer available you could join a Christmas or Easter tour, four towns, one week and as much money as you can bring in.  You can team up against other colleges and universities for mega-raids - a whole week’s entertainment including street collections in Newcastle, Leeds, Glasgow and London.  Or think up your own fundraising event and we can help support you.

Herriot Hospice Homecare

Our organisation provides people with life limiting illness the opportunity to remain in their home for as long as possible by providing a dedicated team of palliative care workers and trained volunteers who provide support for the them and their carers.  Volunteer tasks include fundraising, helping to distribute posters and tickets and helping patients in their own home.

Yorkshire Cancer Research

Could you help us by promoting existing events such as parachute jumps and overseas treks or by marshalling at local events such as abseils or bike rides to raise funds for cancer research?  If so we’d love to hear from you.

Breast Cancer Campaingn

Would you like to help Breast Cancer Campaign continue researching the cure for breast cancer?  Do you have skills and spare time that you would like to put to good use?  We need volunteers across the UK to raise awareness and funds in their local community.  You can choose a volunteer role to suit your interests and availability.  Whether it is being part of a regional group, helping out at local and national events or organising an event of your own, we have a role for you!

Friends Of The Friarage

We are looking for volunteers who have an interest or background in fundraising.  We welcome all assistance be it helping out at events or planning your own ideas.

Joshua Peakcock Treasury Fund

We are looking for a volunteer with good organisational skills who is an excellent communicator and hard working to help organise events to raise funds for Joshua.   Joshua is a young boy from Northallerton who suffers from Microcephaly (a form of cerebral palsy) with abnormal brain and global development delay. He needs 24 hour care and constant stimulation and training in all basic tasks. Unfortunately equipment for Joshua can cost thousands of pounds this is why we need your help.
