Volunteering At A Birds Of Prey Centre

The Falconry Centre is open to the public from March 1st 2008 and provides flying demonstrations.  Volunteers would be trained how to care for, look after and handle birds of prey.  You will need to show a genuine interest and be available at specific times.

Blue Cross Animal Centre

Would you like to help care for the animals, clean out their pens and exercise the dogs, including giving them that special attention?  If so and you’re available from 10am—5pm, on Tuesdays to Sundays then please come along and have a look around the centre and talk through what is expected of you.  We are situated in Topcliffe, near Thirsk.

 The Dogs Trust

Experienced dog owners with time and patience required to look after dogs belonging to women and children fleeing domestic violence.  We provide support throughout the fostering period and cover all the dog’s expenses.

The Dog Trust - Animal Walkers

This opportunity is based at Sadberge, near Darlington and they are seeking dog walkers aged 16 years or over.  All training will be given on site including health and safety training.  There is also a dog walker’s meeting on the last Sunday of ever month.  For More information contact 01325 333114 or www.dogstrust.org.uk

Horse Riding For The Disabled

Volunteer helpers needed to assist children and adults during their weekly riding lessons in Catterick. You need to enjoy working with people and knowledge of horses is helpful but is not essential as training will be provided. Our riders have special learning difficulties and the lessons take place on Thursday mornings during term time

RSPCA Foster Carers

Could you provide a temporary home for rescued animals? If so we’d love to hear from you as we are looking for volunteers with a genuine concern for animals in the Vale of Mowbray area.

Swan Rescue Hospital
